📈 Vikings Pay Justin Jefferson & UCONN Pays Geno Auriemma

Good Morning 👇
In today’s issue:
Justin Jefferson - On pace for Hall of Fame
Geno Auriemma - Extended at UCONN

🏈 Justin Jefferson Highest Paid Non-QB in NFL History
The year of paying Wide Receivers continues as arguably one of the best Receivers in the game, Justin Jefferson, agrees to an extension with the Minnesota Vikings. Jefferson bagged a 4 year, $140M deal with $110M of the deal guaranteed. Just under pace with Calvin Johnson in the TD category, and already by Jerry Rice and Randy Moss in the catches and yards category, Jefferson’s first four years in the league have been exactly what the Vikings hoped it would be.
Last season began a small turnover of the Vikings offense as Adam Thielen and Dalvin Cook both left. This offseason, Kirk Cousins departed Minnesota for the Atlanta Falcons and Jefferson is going to be relied upon heavily to bring along and help rookie QB JJ McCarthy, who was selected with the 10th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Per reports, Justin Jefferson has said he plans to be the “main person” in McCarthy’s ear.

🏆 UCONN extends Geno Auriemma
Per TheAthletic.com, “UConn women’s basketball coach Geno Auriemma signed a five-year extension that will keep him as the program’s coach through the 2028-29 season, the school announced Tuesday. Auriemma, 70, will be compensated $3.34 million for the first season with a $200,000 raise each year of the contract, making him the highest-paid women’s basketball coach in the country.”
Auriemma will presumably become the all time winningest coach in women’s history this upcoming season as he only needs 4 wins to pass Tara VanDerveer who became known for her career as Stanford’s coach.
