📈 MLB & NHL Relocation, Ryan Garcia KO, & More

Good Morning - In this week’s Sports Visualized, we’re zooming into major franchise moves and knockout performances. From the Coyotes' relocation to Utah to Ryan Garcia’s latest ring victory, we’re keeping you up to date through visuals as always. Let’s dive into the action👇
In Edition 5.0:
Arizona Coyotes are Utah bound
Ryan Garcia with a huge KO
Oakland A’s to Sacramento, then Vegas

🏒 Arizona Coyotes —> Utah “??”
Eerily similar to the piece below about the Oakland A’s, the Arizona Coyotes have recently found themselves in a stadium/permanent home discussion that has been finalized in a move to Utah. With political and money battles complete after multiple years, the NHL has approved a sale of the Coyotes to move to Utah, effective immediately to begin next season.
Ryan Smith, owner of the NBA’s Utah Jazz, has purchased the Coyotes and become the new acting Owner, bringing the team to Salt Lake City. Smith has said the name will be “Utah” but the team name is still to be determined.
The Coyotes made the playoffs their first five seasons in Arizona when they moved from Winnipeg in 1996. With a young team, & talent, the “Utah ____” should be competitive in Utah right away.

🥊 Ryan Garcia
In an exciting boxing match at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Ryan Garcia surprised many by defeating Devin Haney. Although there were doubts about Garcia's condition and focus before the fight, he proved the critics wrong by knocking Haney down three times, leading to a victory by decision.
Garcia's effective tactic in this fight was his powerful left hook, which he used early on to shake Haney. Even though Haney seemed to recover and control the next few rounds, Garcia didn't give up. In the seventh round, Garcia knocked Haney down for the first time. Then the fight remained intense, with Garcia managing to knock Haney down two more times later in the match.
After the fight, the boxing community was buzzing about Garcia's unexpected win, and their will definitely be a lot of anticipation leading up to Garcia’s next fight.

⚾ A’s: Oakland —> Sacramento —> Las Vegas
2024 is shaping up to be the final season of baseball in Oakland for the Athletics. It’s sad to see the apathy that has taken place by fans (can you blame them?), while also thinking of the players who finally realize their dream as a big leaguer in the Show only to have college level crowds at each home game.
With the Coliseum lease being up in Oakland after this season, and the Vegas baseball stadium not scheduled to be complete till 2028, the A’s have made a deal with the city of Sacramento to play home games at Sutter Health Park for the three seasons in between. The Minor League Ballpark, home to the River Cats (Triple A affiliate of the SF Giants), will surely be a better fan environment than what Oakland is currently offering, but still not the Major League amenities the players deserve.
Once 2028 comes around, Vegas will be home to 3 organizations in the 4 major sports (Raiders, Golden Knights, A’s). Sin City will create the fan atmosphere and entertainment value that will make the MLB, A’s ownership, and the players a place to be proud to play in.
