🏈 Stefon Diggs

On Wednesday the Buffalo Bills finalized a trade to send star wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans along with an exchange of draft picks:

• Bills receive 2025 second-round pick

• Texans receive Stefon Diggs and a 2024 sixth-round pick and a 2025 fifth-round pick

According to ESPN, as part of the deal, the Texans cleared the final three years of Diggs's contract, allowing him to potentially become a free agent after the current season. They also brought forward $3.5 million guaranteed for next season into the current one, ensuring Diggs a significant raise and $22.52 million in guaranteed money for 2024.

Diggs's production had tapered off after the initial six games of the 2023 season, lacking another 100-yard receiving game for the remainder of the season and only securing three more touchdowns. However, when you look deeper at Diggs’s production, he is one of six receivers with 100+ receptions in at least 2 of the last 3 years, putting him in elite company. Houston will hope he can return to form as a top receiver as they pair him with CJ Stroud while he is on a rookie contract.

🏀 College Basketball

The 2024 Mens National Championship Game takes place tonight after all the March Madness. UConn, looking to go back to back, will put their dominate tournament run to the test against Purdue and National Player of the Year, Zach Edey.

The UConn Huskies in the last calendar year have been on such a dominant run, but the stats show that Purdue can score with them. Zach Edey is the obvious X-Factor, as he has been all season, and how UConn decides to defend him, and how the referees chose to officiate him, will determine the 2024 National Champion.
